KRISHNAGIRI: The Rayakottai police in Krishnagiri district have registered a case against eight people for damaging the door of a house following a dispute over money.
Raghu, 32, of Ullukurukai, who is a sculptor, borrowed Rs 3,000 from Kaleem, 45, of the same area more than 10 days ago. An argument broke out between them on Wednesday when Kaleem wanted the money back. "Angered, Raghu attacked Kaleem. Kaleem threatened to kill Raghu," said a police officer.
On Wednesday night, Kaleem’s friends broke down the door of Raghu’s house with sickles. Raghu, his wife and a child, who were inside the house, shouted in fear.
Based on a complaint filed by Raghu's wife Jayalakshmi, police registered a case against eight people, including Kaleem, Nawaz, 42, and Taufik, 39, and began investigations.
