Paramilitary personnel arrive in Namakkal district ahead of TN assembly election
NAMAKKAL: One company of paramilitary personnel arrived in Namakkal district on Tuesday ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly election. Sixteen companies of the Central Armed Police Forces have been allotted to Namakkal district to ensure a peaceful conduct of the assembly election. Of these, one company of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has reached here.

Paramilitary personnel inspected sensitive polling stations in the Pallipalayam area in Kumarapalayam assembly constituency in the district. The district has six assembly constituencies -- Rasipuram (reserve), Senthamangalam (reserve), Namakkal, Paramathi-Velur, Kumarapalayam and Tiruchengode. It has more than 1,500 polling stations. As many as 180 polling stations have been identified as sensitive. “They include 13 polling stations in Rasipuram, 30 in Senthamangalam, 17 in Namakkal, 42 in Paramathi-Velur, 18 in Tiruchengode and 60 in Kumarapalayam," said an election department official.
