DHARMAPURI: An election flying squad seized Rs 22.03lakh unaccounted cash kept hidden in a scooter in Harur assembly constituency in
Dharmapuri district on Monday.
Around noon, the flying squad saw more than 20 unidentified men who assembled near a petrol bunk in Ambedkar Nagar. On seeing the squad, the men fled the scene leaving a scooter behind.
The squad searched the scooter and found Rs 22.03 lakh in cash hidden in its storage compartment. The cash was handed over to Harur revenue divisional officer and designated election officer Semmalai.
The scooter was seized and handed over to the local RTO office.
