Krishnagiri: Three students were injured after a portion of the roof of a classroom at a government higher secondary school collapsed at Periyathallapadi near Uthangarai on Tuesday.
The classroom was constructed under the Krishnagiri MP constituency development scheme and inaugurated two months ago.
A portion of the roof collapsed while students were in the class.
The injured students were identified as Santhosh, 17, Venkatesh, 17, and Manikandan, 17.
They were taken to the Government Primary Health Centre in Singarapet. After receiving the necessary treatment, the students went home.
Meanwhile, more than 50 parents of the students protested in front of the school and demanded action against the contractor of the newly built classroom.
