SURAT: Three youths from Mirjapor village of Surat died when their bike rammed into a tractor parked by the roadside on Tuesday late night near Mor village.
The deceased were identified as Chintan Patel (20), Akshay Patel (16) and Tejas Patel (16).
Chintan and Akshay died on the spot while Tejas was declared dead after being shifted to the New Civil Hospital (NCH) in Surat.
Chintan, a diamond polisher in Surat, was driving the bike while Akshay and Tejas, both students of Mahadev Shashtri Vidhyalay in Olpad were riding pillion. They left Mirjapor village late Tuesday night on the bike and crashed into the tractor trailer near Mor village.
The accident came to light when some passerby alerted 108 emergency services.
Police said, as there was a puncture, the tractor was parked by the roadside.
“Forensic investigation revealed that the bike was moving at high speed,” said H M Suthar, police inspector of Olpad.
The bodies of deceased were first taken to Mahadev Shashtri Vidhyalay in Olpad, where two deceased studied, and later it was shifted to their village.
