SURAT: While protests continued for the third consecutive day in the diamond city on Thursday against the arrest of
Anna Hazare and to press for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( has invited well-known personalities from different fields at a unique symposium 'Is Anna's way right or wrong', being organized by it here on Saturday.
The diamond city is buzzing with a number of events in support of Anna since the day he was arrested and sent to Tihar jail. People from all walks of life including students of schools and colleges are aggressively opposing his arrest by organizing rallies and dharnas.
In the past three days, two most important sectors in the city - diamond and textiles - have observed a day's closure to support Anna and his movement against corruption.

Rohit Mehta said, "The chamber will organize a unique symposium on whether Anna is right or wrong in his stand on Jan Lokpal Bill. We have invited eminent speakers from different fields besides social workers, lawyers, chartered accountants, academics etc. to speak on the subject."
According to Mehta, this is first time in the history of our country that a man from the civil society has garnered spontaneous response from the countrymen over his fight against corruption.
Renowned chartered accountant Ravindra Vepari, chairman of Venus Jewels Sevantibhai Shah, advocate Kirit Paanwala and professor Babubhai Desai are among those who will speak at the symposium.
