Sumul to create voter awareness through milk pouches
SURAT: After Holi, don't miss to check out a one-line message on your Amul Gold milk pouch. Surat District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (SUMUL) is all set to start a voter awareness campaign on a big scale in the Diamond City for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections after March 17.
All the milk pouches sold by the dairy will carry a message exhorting residents to become a part of the democratic process and exercise their franchise for the betterment of country.

Official sources said the dairy is supporting the voter awareness campaign started by Election Commission of India (ECI) through its Amul Gold milk pouches.
Every day, the dairy sells more than 10 lakh milk pouches of Amul Gold brand in the city and surrounding areas. Out of the total 9.5 lakh litre of milk supply in the city and surrounding areas, around 8 lakh litre go into Amul Gold brand.
SUMUL sources told TOI, "This is first time that SUMUL will be participating in the voter awareness campaign on such a big scale. We want each and every consumer of Amul Gold to read the one-line message printed on the milk pouches and make his or her valuable contribution to the biggest democratic process of the country."
They said the distributors and retailers of Amul Gold milk will be given special instruction to inform the customers to read the message before disposing off the empty milk pouches.
"It is very important that people read the message on the milk pouches. We will carry the message on the milk pouches every day till April 30, when the people will queue up outside the polling booths to exercise their right to franchise," the dairy sources added.
