KALYAN: The Bhartiya Janta Party (
BJP) workers on Tuesday held morcha outside Kolsewadi police station in Kalyan demanding police to take action against rising sales of drug substances in Kalyan-Dombivli city.
BJP’s Kalyan East assembly MLA Ganpat Gaikwad who organised morcha from Katemanivali area to up to Kolsewadi police station has claimed that there is a rise in crime by youngsters in the city due to rising sales of drugs and other narcotics substances.
Gaikwad alleged that in recent cases, usage of narcotics substances were found by youngsters during many crime incidents including heinous minor Dombivli gang rape case in which 33 youngsters were arrested.
Gaikwad told TOI, “We want police to take action against suppliers of such narcotics substances in the city because due to its usage there is a rise in crime by youngsters and to stop this and save youngsters from bad habits police needs to crack entire network of its supply”.
