THANE: Maharashtra's Thane district crossed the 50 lakh mark for the administration of the first dose of

vaccine on Monday, which is over half of the total population here, officials informed.

“As many as 50,01,194 residents of the total 99.42 lakh from Thane district, including rural and urban areas, have been given the first vaccine till Monday. Around 24,10,916 residents have taken the second dose till now from the district, taking the total count of vaccine deliveries to 74.12 lakhs,” informed an official from the district administration.

Meanwhile, as many as 73,342 residents took their first and second vaccine doses at 600 plus locations in the district on Monday despite the bandh call issued by the political parties.
