Maharashtra survey identifies 54L single women for policy, figure may rise to 75L

Maharashtra's single women population is estimated to reach 75 lakh, prompting a new policy to address their social and economic challenges. Minister Meghana Sakore-Bordikar urged district collectors to expedite data collection, especially from urban areas, to ensure accurate representation and effective implementation of government schemes for widows, divorced, deserted, and unmarried women.
