ULHASNAGAR: Ahead of the
Maharashtra assembly elections, several local leaders from different political parties joined the
Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) at Ulhasnagar in Maharashtra's Thane on Saturday.
The leaders joined the BJP in presence of state minister Ravindra Chavan.
Those who joined the party include ex-deputy mayor of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation Vinod Talreja, ex-corporator of NCP Prithvi Valecha, Ganpat Yedke, Ram Wadhwa, Naresh Durgani and Dholu Nathani.
However, in Ulhasnagar, the BJP is not clear who will contest the election as the BJP is also in contact with sitting NCP party's MLA Jyoti Kalani, but party sources said that ex-BJP MLA Kumar Ailani, who is also BJP's city president, may get ticket.
