Maharashtra polls: Uddhav Thackeray targets Eknath Shinde and his son at Kalyan rally

KALYAN: While addressing the rally in Kalyan, Uddhav Thackeray targeted chief minister Eknath Shinde and his son, Shrikant Shinde. At the rally, Thackeray, while cornering chief minister Eknath Shinde, said that he was not letting them loot Maharashtra. That is why they toppled his govt. If he did not make him the minister in 2014, could he have become the chief minister? He asked questions to the public.

Thackeray said this election is not about his existence but about the existence of Maharashtra. Thackeray also targeted the BJP, saying, "We brought them to their knees in the Lok Sabha, now it is time to bury them in hell."

Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday held a rally at Pote Maidan in Kalyan East to campaign for UBT's candidates: Dhananjay Bodare from the Kalyan East constituency, Sachin Basare from Kalyan West, and Rajesh Wankhede from the Ambarnath constituency. Since all three assembly constituencies come under Kalyan Lok Sabha, from where Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's son is an MP, taking a dig at him, Thackeray said that the MP (Shrikant Shinde), who became an MP while sitting at home, is telling through advertisements how Kalyan is changing. However, coming to the rally, he saw that even today there are potholes, dust, and traffic jams on the roads. Their development is visible only in advertisements on which crores of rupees are being spent.

Uddhav also said, "Those who talk about my Hindutva should not teach me Hindutva. When Narendra Modi went to Pakistan to eat Nawaz Sharif's birthday cake, we did not ask him what his Hindutva was." Thackeray also said that BJP betrayed him, due to which he went to Maha Vikas Aghadi to teach them a lesson.

Thackeray further said that he also promoted his son to the post of MP. The Shiv Sainiks who raised him are still with me, and they can make him small again. After holding a rally in Kalyan, Uddhav visited Dombivli, where he held a rally in Bhagshala Maidan for Shiv Sena candidate Dipesh Mhatre contesting the election against BJP MLA Ravindra Chavan from the Dombivli assembly.
