The buses are part of the 5150 e-buses that will be inducted in the MSRTC fleet over the next two years, officials said.
“ST buses that are popularly called ‘Lal Pari’ are the lifeline of the state and have contributed majorly to the development of Maharashtra over the years. It is time that the agency adapted to the changing times and revamped itself,” Shinde said.
Shinde further stressed the need for the MSRTC to gear up and compete with other agencies and provide maximum services and simultaneously ensure minimal damage to the environment.
