Mira Bhayander: Violator abuses traffic cop for wheel-locking car; ends up in tears at police station

THANE: After a video of a couple abusing and misbehaving with a traffic cop went viral on the internet, the Mira Bhayander Police arrested the man involved in the incident.
The accused has been identified as Amar Singh. He was accompanied by his wife Meena Singh, who was also seen arguing with the cop.
However, she was not arrested and was spared with a warning as she is pregnant, officials informed.
Senior police inspector Kailash Barve of Naya Nagar police station informed TOI that the incident took place on July 8 when the accused had parked his car at a no-parking zone in Mira Road. But when the traffic cop on duty in the area wheel-locked the vehicle, instead of being apologetic and complying with the rules, the couple abused and threatened him.
The entire incident was captured on camera by onlookers and the couple even misbehaved with them.
However, as soon as Singh was arrested, his demeanour towards the cops took a 180 degree turn. Not only did he apologise to them, but he was even seen in tears.
"We have booked Amar Singh under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duties) of the IPC. He will be produced in a court on Friday," Barve said.
