THANE: Perhaps for the first time in Maharashtra, the first divyang (handicapped) friendly sensitivity park was inaugurated in Thane by leader of Opposition Devendra Fadanvis on Saturday.
Fadnavis was here to inaugurate developmental projects. He urged BJP activists to get inspired by Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and help get justice “for the last man in society”.

He said some people take credit for work not done by them; but this usually happens when it is good work.

On dilapidated buildings’ development in Thane, he said, “When I was the chief minister I had decided to finalise rules for development. Now that is being implemented but others take credit for it.”
Fadnavis inaugurated the park and a renovated Lokmanya Tilak garden in Naupada, using local area development funds of Rajya Sabha member Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Thane Municipal Corporation.
The concept is a barrier-free garden, where instructions are available in Braille. The park also has a sensory section where divyangs can use their “innate sensory prowess” (smell, sound, touch and taste) for experiential learning, a source said. The park also has a gym.
