Dr Pinto memorial lecture held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Environmental scientist Dr V K Damodaran delivered Dr Pinto memorial lecture on the topic 'Survival in the backdrop of environmental and health issues arising from advancement in technology', here on Sunday.
The lecture was organized as part of the 10th death anniversary of Dr Pinto who had died of a rare motor neuron disease in 2015.
He was the author of a series of novels and poems which include 'Shaithyam', 'Agniye Chumbicha Chithrasalabham' and 'Viral Sparsham'. Damodaran said that although technology, environment and health are extremely different topics, there exists and irrefutable co-relation among them and that it's time mankind delved deep into it. He added that the government should create awareness regarding environmental disasters.
A book written by C Anoop was also released during the function. The educational fund collected by the Pinto Smaraka Samithi were handed over to Annapoorna and Anasooya on the occasion. Former district collector Biju Prabhakar honored Dr S S Santosh who conducts charity activities in various countries. Dr Sajeesh, Dr Ashad Sivaraman and writer B Murali were present.
