Ex-serviceman, wife and son found dead

Kollam: Three members of a family at Ittiva, Vayyanam near Kadakkal in the district were found dead on Sunday.
According to Kadakkal police, the initial assumption is that Sudarshanan, 60, of PK House, Ittiva, Vayyanam, an ex-service man may have hacked his wife Vasantha Kumari, 55, and son Visakh alias Sudesh, 25, to death before hanging himself. While the bodies of Vasantha Kumari and Sudesh were found in the kitchen and living room of the house, respectively, Sudarshanan’s body was found in an adjoining extended room.
The neighbours informed of sound of quarrelling and cries from Sudarshanan’s house around 9am.When nobody came out of the house till 3pm they alerted the police. Surdarshanan and his family members used to quarrel over domestic issues, and there was a pending case in this regard, police said.
As per an agreement after police intervened, Sudarshanan was allowed to stay in the extended portion of the house. When he fought with his wife, the son would oppose him, and it would come to blows. The persisting quarrels may have led to the deaths, police said.
