Milk Day to be celebrated

Thiruvananthapuram: The state dairy development department will organize various programmes to celebrate World Milk Day on June 1. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations had set aside the day to recognize the importance of milk as a global food. The programmes will be held with active participation of various stakeholders in the sector, including Milma, department of animal husbandry, Kerala livestock development board, Kerala Feeds and dairy cooperative societies.
Minister for dairy development K Raju will inaugurate the function at Kanakakunnu Palace at 11.30 am.. Dairy farmers will be felicitated and dairy farmers' welfare fund allowances will be distributed at the function. TNN
