New commissioners for Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has initiated a massive transfer of top level IPS officers, including the commissioners of Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.
The government appointed the incumbent Kochi city police commissioner C Nagaraju as the new city police commissioner of Thiruvananthapuram. While present IG (training) K Sethuraman will be the new commissioner of Kochi, incumbent DIG (armed police battalion) Rajpal Meena has been appointed as the new commissioner of Kozhikode.
The government also promoted 1998 batch officers, including Thummala Vikram, Dinendra Kashyap, Gopesh Agarwal, H Venkatesh and Ashok Yadav, to the ranks of additional director general of police.While Kashyap and Yadav are on central deputation, the other officers are serving in the cadre. On promotion, Venkatesh has been appointed as ADGP (armed police battalion), with additional charge of IG (crimes).
The government also promoted Neeraj Kumar Gupta and A Akbar, from the 2005 batch, to the rank of inspector general. While Gupta has been appointed as IG (north zone), Akbar has been appointed as IG (traffic and road safety management) with the additional charge of managing director of Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation.
While IG Harshitha Attaluri has been transferred and posted as IG (vigilance), G Sparjan Kumar has been posted as IG (south zone). While incumbent DCP (Kozhikode) A Srinivas who has been promoted as DIG has been posted as DIG (Ernakulam range), DIG (Thrissur range) Putta Vimaladitya has been transferred as DIG (administration).
At the level of SPs, the government transferred incumbent SP (Kannur rural) R Mahesh from the post, replacing him with A Hemalatha, who is the commandant of KAP-4 battalion in Kannur. While R Ilango will be the new SP (technical intelligence), Jaidev G has been appointed as commandant, armed police battalion headquarters.
