SSLC exam results to be announced Friday
Thiruvananthapuram: The SSLC results will be declared on Friday afternoon, ending uncertainty surrounding the announcement amid delays in the formation of the new state govt. The results will be announced jointly by the general education secretary and the director of general education (DGE). The examination board, which met on Tuesday, carried out the final evaluation and approval of the results before giving the nod for the announcement.Congress leadership clarified to education department officials that the declaration need not wait for a new education minister to take charge. Officials were also concerned that further delays could disrupt the Plus One admission process and the broader academic calendar.Uncertainty had lingered over who would make the official announcement, as the new govt is yet to assume office following the assembly election results. Students and parents grew increasingly anxious, particularly since results for several other syllabuses had already been published.Former education minister V Sivankutty had earlier indicated that Friday was the likely date for the announcement. By that point, the valuation process had been completed, with only the examination board's formal approval and procedural formalities outstanding. Officials had deliberated over whether to postpone the announcement until the new education minister took office, but ultimately decided to proceed as originally planned. There are precedents for senior officials announcing SSLC results in the absence of ministers. During the 2019 Lok Sabha election period, when the model code of conduct was in force, the results were announced by the general education secretary, while in 2016, they were declared by the chief secretary. This year, approximately 4.17 lakh students appeared for the SSLC examinations in Kerala.
