Illegal rooster fights: 11 booked in Trichy

TRICHY: Eleven people who indulged in illegal rooster fights in Kattuputhur and Thottiyam areas in Trichy on Tuesday, have been booked by the Trichy district police.
The Kattuputhur police arrested M Matheswaran, 25, V Ganesan, 28, P Chelladurai, 28, K Jeeva, 21, S Sakthivel, 21, R Vasanth, 21, P Manikandan, 26 and an 18 year old boy for conducting an illegal rooster fight at Marachipatti.
The violation came to light when sub-inspector of police Senthilkumar was patrolling in the area.
They were booked under the Tamil Nadu Gaming (TNG) Act.
The Thottiyam police also booked three people including K Maniammai from Ganesapuram in Namakkal district and two unidentified people for indulging in illegal rooster fight near a ration shop in Alagarai.
They were booked under the TNG Act. They are absconding.
