Defeated AAP candidate allegedly fires at relative in Dahod
Vadodara: An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member, who recently contested the district panchayat elections allegedly opened fire at one of his relatives in Dahod district. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The firing took place in Nadhelav village, where Shailesh Bhabhor allegedly fired three rounds from his gun at Memar Bhabhor.
According to police, Shailesh, who had lost the election, went to Memar’s house on Thursday and questioned him about not voting for him. Police said Shailesh was also upset that Memar had allegedly not supported him during the poll campaign.
Memar escaped unhurt and later lodged a police complaint against Shailesh.
Police said the weapon used in the incident, along with empty cartridges, was seized on Saturday evening, and further investigation is underway.
