Married woman commits suicide at her residence

VADODARA: A married woman staying in Manjalpur area committed suicide by hanging herself in the bedroom of her residence. The woman identified as Hemlata Vasandiya took the extreme step when her husband Rajendrasinh was away on job. She was rushed to the hospital later but was declared brought dead. The police is now trying to ascertain reasons behind her suicide. Hemlata’s family members said that they were not aware of any problems faced by her.According to the police, Rajendrasinh left for his job in Alkapuri area on Friday. His grandmother was at home along with Hemlata. By afternoon, Hemlata walked into her bedroom and locked it from inside. The grandmother thought that Hemlata was taking rest and hence she too slept. When Hemlata didn’t come out of the room till evening, she knocked the door but got no reply. She even called in some neighbours who tried to open the door.Rajendrasinh was called in by the neighbours. He rushed to his residence and entered the bedroom by breaking open a glass window. He saw his wife Hemlata hanging up dupatta. The police said that Hemlata had dropped her one-year-old daughter, who was not keeping well, at her parent’s home some days ago.
