Arms smuggler arrested
An arms smuggler was arrested in Saiyyedraja area in Chandauli on Sunday with three country-made revolvers and pistol from him. The police cordoned the railway crossing gate in Saiyyedraja town in the morning.
Arms smuggler Jagdish Vishwakarma reached there to deliver arms and ammunition to some criminals.
He was nabbed after a brief chase. Two country-made revolvers, one pistol and cartridges were recovered from him.
The police said that Vishwakarma was involved in supplying arms to the criminals of Chandauli, Varanasi and other districts of east UP after procuring them from Bihar.
Police were searching for him for long time but he could be nabbed on Sunday.
