Artists to perform at Sankat Mochan Music Festival

VARANASI: More than 35 artists will perform at the five-day Sankat Mochan Music Festival, which will be held in the Sankat Mochan temple premises from April 29 to May 03.
Giving this information to reporters on Tuesday, mahant of Sankat Mochan temple, Vishwambhar Nath Mishra further said that it will be 90th celebration of Hanuman Jayanti this year.A series of cultural performances by artists and performers from different regions of the country will be held during the five-day festivity. Noted vocalists, Pandit Rajan Sajan Mishra, Pandit Anoop Jalota along with artists like Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Satish Vyas, Pandit Amarnath Mishra, Ustad Nishant Khan, Pandit Devjyoti Bose and several others will perform on the occasion. However, the fans of Pandit Jasraj have to face the disappointment, as he will not be present in the music festival this year. The religious ceremonies commemorating the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman will however be held from April 25 to April 28 during, which various religious discourse and rituals will be performed.
