Pilgrim dies under mysterious conditions

VARANASI: Subramaniam (60), a pilgrim from Tamil Nadu, died mysteriously at Hanuman Ghat under Bhelupur police station on Saturday.
According to reports, Subramaniam had visited the city for pilgrimage and he was staying at Juna Akhadas Ashram at Hanuman Ghat. He was climbing up the ghats steps after bathing in Ganga on Saturday morning when he fell and died.The locals rushed him to SPG hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Youth commits suicide: A youth Vishal Pandya (33) committed suicide by setting himself on fire at Soot Tola under Kotwali police station on Friday night. He was admitted to the district hospital where he succumbed to burns on Saturday.
Miscreants nabbed: Foiling the bid of a miscreant to escape with cash Rs 50,000 the local natives of Pindra Bazar under Phoolpur police station caught him and handed over to police on Saturday.
According to reports, Moolchand Yadav of Phoolpur works in Mumbai. He had recently returned home. On Saturday morning he had gone to Pindra Bazar to deposit cash Rs one lakh. A youth posing himself as drunkard hit him and the bag fell on road and the miscreant succeeded in taking money. But, before the miscreant could flee from the scene he raised an alarm and the locals caught him and handed over to police.
