SSRF to rehabilitate 6 kids

VARANASI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) handed over six children working illegally on Cantonment railway station premises to the Shambhunath Singh Research Foundation (SSRF) for rehabilitation on Wednesday.
According to Geeta Patel, a counsellor at the organisation, these children would be looked after under 'Dhoop-Chhaw project' meant for protection and rehabilitation of such children.
The SSRF, an NGO working for the upliftment of street children, runs various programmes to train and rehabilitate such kids.
The children were handed over to SSRF by senior sub-inspector of RPF, Vijay Nath Singh.
Death anniversary: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe the death anniversary of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukharjee as 'Rashtriya Ekatamkta Diwas' on Thursday. The city unit of BJP will hold a function on the occasion at Gulab Bag office. Former minister and senior BJP leader Lalji Tandon will attend the function.
Meeting: The managing director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited, Suresh Ram, will hold a meeting of power engineers at Bhikharipur on Thursday to discuss the power scenario and ways to improve the power supply.
