Uttar Pradesh: 14-year-old girl found murdered in Bhadohi

VARANASI: A 14-year-old girl was found murdered in Tiwaripur village under the limits of Gopiganj police station in Bhadohi district on Thursday afternoon.
Bhadohi SP RB Singh said that three neighbours of the deceased girl had been taken under custody after her father told the police that he had a brawl with them on September 28 when they had threatened to spoil the lives of his family members.
The girl had left home for some work but did not return till late afternoon. In the meantime, a passersby noticed her body lying in a pool of blood on the outskirts of the village and raised an alarm. Within few minutes, hundreds of villagers gathered at the spot and started claiming that the girl had been murdered after rape.
Upon getting information, SP along with police force reached the spot to take stock of situation. SP Singh said that during initial investigations, it came to light that the girl was assaulted with bricks. He said that police had taken the three accused into custody for further interrogation
The SP said that a murder case was being registered on the complaint of girl’s father. Regarding allegations of rape, he said, with the arrival of postmortem report it will become clear whether killers had committed any sexual offence with her.
