Giri Pradakshina road works launched in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: The coalition govt is allocating substantial funds for the development of all zones under the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation limits, said city mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao. On Sunday, the mayor, along with Visakhapatnam North MLA P Vishnukumar Raju, laid foundation stones for various development works worth Rs 30.9 crore.Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that the NDA govt, led by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, is extending significant support for the development of Visakhapatnam. "In the 2026–27 financial year budget, substantial funds have been allocated to develop Visakhapatnam as the economic capital. More than 530 major projects have been sanctioned, including Rs 15 crore for the metro rail project, along with significant allocations for welfare schemes benefiting all sections of society. Both the development of the state and Visakhapatnam is possible only under the coalition government," said the mayor.
Rao further said that the North MLA has been consistently striving for the development of the zone. The works inaugurated include development of Seethammadhara Giri Pradarshana road with an allocation of around Rs 30 crore, construction of VRCC SW drains, culvert slabs, footpath tiles, and bitumen roads from Marriott Hotel junction to NGGO Colony, Narasimhanagar junction, ASR Nagar, and surrounding areas.
