Vijayawada: Grief and heartbreak engulfed families in Markapuram as the aftermath of the private bus accident unfolded at the govt hospital. The sight of charred bodies left relatives inconsolable, turning the environment into a scene of deep mourning.
Among the victims, the story of Ambati Anil has shaken many. A native of Peddarikatlam in Prakasam district, Anil was travelling with his wife Soujanya and their five-month-old son, Rodhan. When the bus suddenly burst into flames after the collision, panic took over. Soujanya managed to escape through a half-broken window, suffering injuries. But Anil, fearing for his infant's safety, tried to exit through the door.
In those critical moments, the fire spread rapidly, trapping him and his child inside. Both were burnt alive, leaving Soujanya battling injuries and an unbearable loss.
Equally tragic is the story of Muthangi Venkateshwarlu, a migrant labourer who was returning home with hopes of celebrating Sri Rama Navami with his family. A native of Dasarapalli near Udayagiri, he was working in Telangana after Sankranti to support his loved ones.
With the festival approaching, he began his journey back, boarding the ill-fated bus after reaching Pamur.
But fate intervened cruelly. The collision near Rayavaram turned his journey into his final one. Venkateshwarlu never made it home, leaving his family shattered and without their sole breadwinner.
For many families, what was meant to be a time of reunion, celebration, and joy has turned into a moment of irreversible loss, stories of hope reduced to ashes in one tragic morning.
