TIRUPATI: Tirupati district collector Dr S Venkateswar conducted grama sabhas at Tamminapatnam and Kotta parnam villages near Gudur in Tirupati district and held interaction with the local farmers on Friday.
Farmers in these villages, grappling with uncertainties surrounding the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) – Kris city (Krishnapatnam Industrial City) project and Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) Node, finally saw a glimmer of hope as the district authorities took steps towards resolution of the issues.
District collector Dr S Venkateswar conducted a whirlwind tour of the Gudur constituency on Friday, focusing on addressing pending land acquisition and compensation distribution issues in Tamminapatnam and Kotta Patnam.
Dr Venkateswar assured the farmers that he would take the initiative to resolve the pending matters related to land acquisition and compensation for the APIIC Kris city project, which is part of the CBIC Node. He urged the public to cooperate with the officials.
During the gram sabhas, the Collector discussed various issues with farmers, including government lands, D-KT pattas, and lands being cultivated without proper records. He explained that he would report the situation to the government and take further action to address their concerns.
The Collector ordered the revenue divisional officer (RDO) of Gudur to set up ten teams to conduct surveys in Tamminapatnam next Tuesday and in Kotta Patnam and Siddhavattam on Wednesday. These surveys aim to gather information about how long farmers have been cultivating government lands, the extent of cultivation, and their investments.
Dr Venkateswar also addressed other local issues, such as the need for a retaining wall to prevent flooding in the ST colony of Tamminapatnam and the allocation of house sites.
He assured the farmers that he would submit a comprehensive report to the government about the ground realities and pending issues. He also announced plans to organize a job fair soon, in collaboration with the local MLA, to provide employment opportunities for local youth in various industries.
