Tirupati: Property dispute led to the brutal murder of a woman at Suluvayi village in Holagunda mandal at Kurnool district in the late hours on Thursday. According to the Holagunda police, the deceased was identified as Yellamma, second wife of Gadi Lingappa. Police investigation revealed that Gadi Lingappa’s son from his first wife Gadi Sekanna cornered Yellamma, when she was alone in her house on Thursday night and attacked her with a serrated sickle, leading to her death on the spot. There has been a dispute between the two families over a 2 acre land, leading to the murder. Holagunda police rushed to the crime scene and shifted Yellamma’s body for postmortem. Police registered a case and have laid a hunt for Sekanna, who is absconding after committing the crime.
