AMARAVATI: Municipal administration minister P Narayana has said that the government is gearing up to launch works related to permanent structures in capital city in January, 2017. Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he alleged that YSRCP leaders leaders should first tell the people whether they want the capital city to be built or notl. "We are taking concrete steps for construction of the capital city without going into controversies as it involves the future of thousands of farmers and five crore people of AP," he explained.

He said the government had already initiated measures to distribute land to farmers who parted with their fields under the land pooling scheme (LPS). The government would complete the process of plots distribution by next month, he said. "We shall not launch the works in a hurried manner like the erstwhile Congress governments and invite the wrath of courts," he added. Narayana said 6 lakh sft of construction work was already completed in a record period of six months thanks to the commitment of the chief minister.
