75-year-old man killed over parking dispute in Vizag

A 75-year-old man died in front of his house after a drunk man attacked him following an argument over vehicle parking near Lakshminarayanapuram under Fourth Town police station limits in Vizag city on Monday. The accused has been arrested.

VISAKHAPATNAM: A 75-year-old man died in front of his house after a drunk man attacked him following an argument over vehicle parking near Lakshminarayanapuram under Fourth Town police station limits in Vizag city on Monday. The accused has been arrested.The victim was identified as N Narayana Rao and the accused as V Durga Prasad, a resident of the same locality and a driver by profession.On Monday morning, Durga Prasad parked his two-wheeler in front of Narayana Rao’s house by blocking the vehicle of Rao’s son. When Narayana Rao and his son asked Durga Prasad to move the bike from the spot, a drunk Durga Prasad punched Narayana Rao and his son, leading to Narayana Rao’s death.The locals said that the accused is an associate of a rowdy-sheeter named Murali. They said he consumes liquor daily and picks fights with people. “Though the residents have complained against Durga Prasad, the police failed to take action,” the locals added.The man’s death has led to an outcry among the residents of the locality. The locals thrashed the accused before handing him over to the police. A case was registered against Durga Prasad and he was arrested. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
