Arjun slams unbeaten ton

Visakhapatnam: Anantapur opener P Arjun Tendulkar slammed an unbeaten century before rain stopped the first day’s play against Kadapa in the ACA South zone under-23 inter-district tournament in Kadapa on Sunday.

Central Zone topped the table with seven points while South Zone pipped North Zone to take the second place with their better run quotient and Rest of Andhra finished fourth with three points after the final day’s play was also washed out in the ACA inter-zone multi-day matches tournament at Vizianagaram on Sunday.
Good response for Duleep Trophy passes
A number of cricket fans turned up to collect the free passes for the Duleep Trophy matches to be held at the RDT grounds in Anantapur from September 5 to 22. About 10,000 passes were distributed. Spectators having passes will be allowed only into the A ground between 830 am and 10.30 am only.
Navy honours Jyothi
The Eastern Naval Command felicitated Y Jyothi, who represented India in the women’s 100M hurdles at the Paris Olympics, at a function organised by INS Satavahana here on Saturday. The district athletics association’s president D Nageswara Rao, secretary M Narayana Rao and vice-president MV Pavan Kartheek were also present.
