Hameed scalps nine wickets

Visakhapatnam: Nellore’s right arm leg-spinner SS Hameed took nine wickets against Kadapa who posted 347 runs in their first innings in the ACA under-19 inter-district match on Monday. Vizianagaram’s SUmanth and R Damodar scalped five wickets each to restrict Anantapur to 141 in another match at Narasaraopeta.

Maheep slams double ton
Guntur opener K Maheep Kumar slammed an unbeaten 208 against Prakasam on the first day of the ACA men’s inter-district tournament at ACA stadium, Mangalagiri on Monday. Sk Md Rafi of Kadapa, Sasank Srivats of Chittoor and AVV Vijay of East Godavari ) also hit tons on the opening day.

Collector pats para-athletes
Collect MN Harendhir Prasad lauded five para athlete from Visakhapatnam - B Lakshman (400M gold, 100M silver), K Gowtham (long jump gold, 400M silver) K Teja Sri (long jump gold, 100M silver), G Surya Rohith (100M and 400M bronze) and M Sai Nikhil Gowtam (1500M bronze) - who won medals in the National junior and sub-junior para athletics championships held in New Delhi recently. M Lakshmita Reddy of the Dr L Bullayya College has won a gold medal in the State ice-skating championships held recently and qualified to participate in the National championships to be held in New Delhi from November 8.
