Lokesh links Somnath legacy with Kailasagiri Trishul

Visakhapatnam: Drawing a symbolic and cultural connection with the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, the state IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh said that developments like the Trishul project on Kailasagiri in Visakhapatnam reflect a continuing revival of faith, identity, and cultural pride across the country. In a social media post, the minister said; “As the sacred Somnath Temple in Gujarat marks 75 years of its historic restoration tomorrow, Andhra Pradesh is celebrating its own spiritual and cultural resurgence with the inauguration of a majestic 65-foot Trishul at Kailasagiri, Visakhapatnam. Just as the vast sea before Somnath symbolises resilience and strength, Kailasagiri too rises above the coastline, overlooking the sea and reflecting the same timeless spirit of faith. From Somnath to #Vizag, Bharat’s spiritual heritage continues to inspire us to rise stronger, rooted in culture, faith, and goodness! (sic).”

The newly constructed “Trishul with Damaru” at the Kailasagiri hilltop park in Visakhapatnam was inaugurated on May 9. The VMRDA has spent nearly Rs 3 crore on the project. It is enhanced with integrated LED lighting, making it visible both day and night.
