US delegation visits Visakhapatnam Port Trust

VISAKHAPATNAM: American delegation headed by Principal Commercial Services Andrew Edlefsen visited the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) on Friday. He and his team explained the ports perspective plan of the USA. He informed the objectives and business of Export and Import.
The VPT Chairman K Rama Mohan Rao made a presentation of the infrastructure facilities available, capabilities in the handling of cargo, modernisation and mechanisation, investment potential and zone of opportunities in exploring imports and export improvements in the port.
He also emphasized exploring the trading opportunities with India duly taking into consideration of the infrastructure advantages available at Visakhapatnam. A Free Trade Zone and Cruise Tourism opportunities can be explored with the theme of to Look East Policy of the government of India. \u0009Durgesh Kumar Dubey, IRTS, Dy. Chairman, Heads of the Departments, and Senior Officers of VPT attended the meeting.
