Visakhapatnam: Central zone’s M Vamsi Krishna (103), Y Sandeep (101) and Rest of Andhra’s G Srikar Sai Reddy (5/113) shone in their drawn match in the ACA inter-zone tournament in Vizianagaram on Wednesday.
Brief scores: At Chintalavalsa: South zone 444 & 153/1 in 41 overs (CR Gnaneshwar 106*) drew North zone 187 in 51.5 overs (M Anjaneyulu 4/53, Shaik Md Rafi 4/55). At Sir Vizzy stadium: Rest of Andhra 333 & 169/4 in 38.5 overs (SDNV Prasad 50, M Raju Kullayappa 47) drew Central zone 456 in 98.5 overs (M Vamsi Krishna 103, Y Sandeep 101, KP Rahul 81, M Abhinav 59; G Srikar Sai Reddy 5/113).

Sports day celebrations at Andhra University
The Olympic Association of Visakhapatnam and the District Sports Authority will organise the National Sports day, on the occasion of Dhyanchand’s birth anniversary, at the Andhra University on Thursday. Sportspersons would be presented with cash awards.

State home minister Vangalapudi Anita emphasized the importance of implementing better safety measures in industrial units to prevent accidents, particularly in bulk drug units. During a review meeting, she announced the formation of a district-level safety committee and urged for regular safety drills. The use of technology like sensors was recommended to enhance safety.
