Karan Johar Director on his new film Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna.
What is the film all about?
I really cannot talk about the subject matter, except for the fact it deals with marriage. But, hopefully, it will be out by the latter half of this year and then everyone can see what it is all about.
I like to believe my strength is emotional drama.
Lots of emotions, songs, dances hopefully a good story! The film has a huge star-cast and so there are expectations and I hope that I am able to fulfil all of them.
How was it shooting in New York?
It was a hectic schedule and we saw nearly all the seasons of the city with just a little bit of sunshine thrown in!
And, of course, there were a couple of hurricanes also but we all, the cast and the crew, stuck together and got through it all!
How was it working with such a huge cast?
I don���t think I can ever work without Shah Rukh. He is like my elder brother and working with Abhishek was a breeze since I have known him for so long.
Amitji's character in the film is very flamboyant, quite unlike anything we have seen him play before. And, of course, Rani and Preity are amazing!
What is happening on the production front?
We are looking at a couple of films with new directors. We would be announcing them in due time.
