ISB’s General Management Programme enables senior professionals to strengthen core management capabilities
Indian School of Business’ (ISB) General Management Programme (GMP) is designed to empower senior professionals to grow beyond their functional silos and lead with impact in an increasingly interconnected world.
Created for high-calibre executives with 10–20 years of experience, the GMP is a nine-month, blended learning journey that delivers leadership transformation in both mindset and capability. It equips participants with the ability to think strategically, influence decisively, and act with clarity even in uncertain environments. The programme is especially well-suited for leaders stepping into broader enterprise roles—those responsible for multi-functional teams, business verticals, or P&L outcomes.
A blended format built for working professionals
Running from September 20, 2025 to May 31, 2026, the GMP combines the flexibility of live online, self-paced, and on-campus learning. As part of the programme, participants attend two on-campus immersions, designed to foster peer learning, reflection, and leadership practice.
The programme begins with an orientation and foundation in business principles such as economics, accounting, and leadership in a new economy. As participants progress, they are exposed to a wide range of themes - from negotiation and influence on data-driven decision-making, supply chain strategy, innovation, and digital transformation.

A curriculum that moves beyond traditional business learning
What truly differentiates ISB’s GMP is its ability to blend rigour with relevance. It goes beyond theory and delivers a hands-on, highly curated experience designed for real-world application. Participants explore how to lead in VUCA environments, integrate AI into strategy, and build customer-centric organisations that thrive in disruption.
“The GMP was a comprehensive learning experience, covering everything from marketing and finance to emerging topics like AI and design thinking. The Action Learning Project felt like building a business from scratch, an incredibly hands-on experience. Case studies and cohort discussions provided valuable insights, and the collective experience has equipped me with new approaches to tackle future business challenges.” Ritu Jha, Head of Marketing at Bosch India.
Sharpening the strategic and human edge of leadership
The GMP is as much about self-leadership as it is about business acumen. A specially curated personalised executive coaching, CEO perspectives and business leadership challenges help participants identify their strengths, blind spots, and growth areas. Through this journey, participants become more self-aware, emotionally intelligent, and better equipped to influence diverse stakeholders.
“Leading a large team meant I needed to invest in my own growth to create better leaders. Engaging with peers from diverse industries broadened my perspective on problem-solving. Case studies on personal leadership reinforced the importance of empathy, integrity, and customer-centricity in driving growth and innovation. The structured approach made this learning experience truly valuable.” Sumit H Mohinani, Head of Operations at Dubizzle.
These softer yet critical skills are further deepened through sessions on executive presence, storytelling, influence, and decision-making under uncertainty.
Learning by doing: The Business Leadership Challenge
One of the most defining aspects of the GMP is the Business Leadership Challenge, which encourages participants to apply everything they’ve learned to solve a pressing business or leadership challenge from their context. It offers a safe but demanding environment to test strategy, decision frameworks, and innovation thinking, shaped by real-time feedback from peers and faculty.
Lifelong benefits through the ISB Executive Alumni Network
On completing the programme, participants earn a certificate from ISB Executive Education and join the ISB Executive Alumni Network—a prestigious and growing community of senior leaders from across industries and geographies.
Alumni benefits include:
- Lifetime access to ISB webinars, research reports, and professional tools.
- A personal ISB email ID and dedicated support.
- Access to alumni-only events, learning journeys, and peer communities.
- Avail preferential pricing on the programme fee for ISB Executive Education and Online programmes.
This network not only expands learning but also creates opportunities for collaboration, mentoring, and leadership beyond the classroom.
Faculty excellence meets emerging market insight
With a world-class faculty pool from ISB, and other global institutions, the programme offers a future-ready perspective rooted in academic rigour and practical insight. From AI and supply chain innovation to leadership under crisis, the teaching combines cutting-edge research with deep contextual understanding, especially in the Indian and emerging market landscape.
Admissions are now open for the September 2025 Cohort. If you’re a senior leader preparing to take on greater responsibility—or looking to evolve into a more strategic, empathetic, and future-ready leader—ISB’s GMP offers a powerful platform to elevate your impact.
