Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is planning multilevel car parking at Guru Dronacharya Metro Station and IFFCO Chowk Metro Station to address rising commuter demand and inadequate existing parking capacity.

DMRC has sought formal approval from Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran to develop parking facilities under a public-private partnership model, aligning with similar infrastructure already implemented across several Delhi Metro stations.

The proposed parking complexes are expected to ease traffic congestion around both metro stations and provide organised parking solutions, improving daily commuting experience for thousands of passengers using these high-footfall transit points.

The land parcels were transferred by the Haryana government to DMRC under a 2006 agreement for Yellow Line extension, with over 2,500 sqm at Guru Dronacharya and over 6,200 sqm at IFFCO Chowk.

DMRC noted that parking demand has increased manifold over the years, while existing space remains limited, making it necessary to develop structured multilevel parking facilities to meet growing commuter requirements efficiently.

The proposal follows successful PPP-based multilevel parking models at stations like Janakpuri West Metro Station, Rohini Metro Station and Rajouri Garden Metro Station, where commercial use supports construction costs.

The plan has been under consideration since 2025, with preliminary agreement reached in meetings, subject to conditions including land clearance. Over 3,900 sqm land is currently available at IFFCO Chowk for development.
