Heatwave alert for Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana and more: What to expect over next 5 days

Heatwave conditions continue to grip large parts of India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of severe temperatures across several states.In its May 20 press release, the IMD said, "Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions likely to continue to prevail over northwest & central India during the week and over East India during next 5 days."Uttar Pradesh’s Banda records 48°CBanda district in Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest temperature in the state at 48 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, according to the Meteorological Centre in Lucknow.
