Highlights: Over 10.57 lakh await BIEAP scores; results on April 15

The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) is expected to release the AP Inter 1st and 2nd year results 2026 shortly. Students who appeared in the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) conducted between February 23 and March 24 will be able to access their marks memo once the result link is activated on the official website, bie.ap.gov.in.

A total of more than 10.57 lakh students registered for the AP Intermediate examinations this year. Of these, over 5.31 lakh candidates were from the first year, while more than 5.26 lakh students appeared for the second year examinations. The results will also be announced through a press conference, where key performance indicators, including pass percentage and district-wise data, will be shared.

Exam reforms introduced in AP Inter 2026
The AP Intermediate examinations 2026 witnessed several structural changes aimed at aligning the curriculum with national-level entrance tests such as JEE and NEET. First-year students were provided with a 32-page answer booklet, while second-year candidates received a 24-page booklet.

To reduce the examination load, subjects such as Mathematics 1A and 1B were merged, as were Botany and Zoology. Additionally, one-mark questions were introduced in key subjects to enhance objective assessment and improve conceptual clarity among students.

Expected result timeline and release pattern
While BIEAP has not officially confirmed the exact date and time of the result announcement, past trends suggest that the results are typically declared within 20 to 25 days after the conclusion of examinations. In previous years, the board has often released results around 11 AM.

The AP Inter results 2026 are expected to follow a similar pattern. Once announced, the result link will be made available on multiple official portals to manage heavy traffic from lakhs of students attempting to access their scores simultaneously.

Pass percentage trends and statistics
The AP Inter 2nd year pass percentage has remained relatively stable in recent years. The pass percentage stood at 69 per cent in 2025, 69.46 per cent in 2024, 67.27 per cent in 2023, 68.68 per cent in 2022, and 69.64 per cent in 2020, while 2021 recorded a 100 per cent pass rate.

Last year’s statistics indicate that 50,314 students appeared for the first year examination, of whom 23,799 passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 47 per cent. For the second year, 39,783 students appeared, and 27,276 cleared the examination, taking the pass percentage to 69 per cent.

Gender-wise performance showed that girls outperformed boys in both categories. The pass percentage for boys stood at 39 per cent in the first year and 62 per cent in the second year, while girls recorded 55 per cent and 74 per cent respectively.

Grading system and evaluation criteria
The AP Inter grading system categorises student performance into distinct bands. Students securing above 75 per cent marks are awarded Grade A, while those scoring between 61 per cent and 75 per cent receive Grade B. Marks between 51 per cent and 60 per cent correspond to Grade C, and those between 36 per cent and 50 per cent are assigned Grade D.

A more detailed grading scale includes A1 (91–100 marks), A2 (81–90), B1 (71–80), B2 (61–70), C1 (51–60), C2 (41–50), and D (35–40). Students must secure at least 35 per cent marks in both theory and practical examinations separately to qualify.

Post-result process and revaluation
Students dissatisfied with their results will have the option to apply for recounting by paying Rs 100 per subject. The revaluation and recounting process is expected to commence in April 2026.

Candidates who do not pass the examination will be eligible to appear for supplementary exams, which are scheduled shortly after the declaration of results. Additionally, students can opt for improvement exams to enhance their scores in selected subjects.

The provisional marks memo issued online will serve as an important document for admissions, allowing students to apply for higher education and entrance examinations immediately after the results are declared. Original certificates will be distributed later through respective institutions.
