NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to declare the results for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 soon. Following the recent conclusion of the computer-based examination on June 7, 2026, evaluations are underway to publish the scores. Students who appeared for this massive national-level entrance test can check their subject-wise percentiles on the CUET UG Official Website.
The publication of the scorecards will officially clear the path for the undergraduate admission cycle across participating institutions. Central, state, private, and deemed universities across India are waiting to initiate their respective counselling sessions based on the official NTA normalized scores.
Surging Numbers: A Look at This Year's Participation
Data released by the NTA indicates that competition has intensified this year. A total of 15,68,866 candidates registered for the CUET UG 2026 examination, representing a sharp increase of approximately 2.14 lakh registrations compared to the 13,54,699 applicants recorded in 2025.
The scale of the exam was immense, generating over 67.56 lakh test instances as candidates chose an average of 4.31 subjects each. In terms of regional participation, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of registrations with 3.70 lakh applicants. This was closely followed by Delhi (1.39 lakh), Bihar (1.34 lakh), Madhya Pradesh (93,000), and Rajasthan (89,000).
Once the NTA activates the official scorecard link, students can easily access their results by following these five steps:
Step 1: Visit the CUET UG Official Website.
Step 2: Locate and click on the "CUET UG 2026 Scorecard" link on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter your unique Application Number and Date of Birth or Password in the login fields.
Step 4: Submit the security captcha pin to display your detailed scorecard on the screen.
Step 5: Download the scorecard PDF and print a hard copy for the upcoming university counselling sessions.

Historical admission data reveals distinct patterns in candidate preferences. Prestigious institutions like the University of Delhi (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) continue to stand as the top universities where maximum students seek admission.
In past admission cycles, high-scoring aspirants heavily targeted premium flagship courses. Commerce students overwhelmingly prioritised B.Com (Hons) and BBA / BMS programmes. Science students converged toward B.Sc (Hons) specialisations in Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science. Meanwhile, Humanities aspirants showed the highest inclination toward B.A. (Hons) programmes in English, Political Science, and Economics.
