MCC NEET PG counselling 2025 round 3 choice locking put on hold: Check official notice here
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has decided to put the NEET PG counselling 2025 round 3 choice filling and choice locking process on hold. Candidates can check the official notice on the MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
In its latest notice, MCC stated that the earlier announcement regarding the completion of round 3 choice filling has been withdrawn. The committee informed that choice locking for round 3 has been put on hold until further notice.
According to the official notice, this decision has been taken after receiving information from the National Medical Commission (NMC) about a pending matter in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Earlier, in a notice issued on January 29, 2026, MCC had informed candidates that:

As per the revised schedule released earlier:
However, the entire choice locking process has now been paused until further notice.
Recently, MCC also revised the seat matrix for round 3 of NEET PG counselling 2025. As part of this revision:
Some institutes added new seats and some institutes withdrew seats for round 3.
Seats marked for withdrawal will be removed from the seat matrix before seat processing, while the newly added seats have already been included. Candidates are allowed to exercise choices for the newly added seats once the process resumes.

What MCC said in the official notice

Earlier schedule now withdrawn
Earlier, in a notice issued on January 29, 2026, MCC had informed candidates that:
- Round 3 choice filling would be available till January 30, 2026
- Choice locking would be activated from 6 pm on January 29 to 8 am on January 30, 2026
Revised round 3 schedule announced earlier
- Round 3 choice filling was scheduled to begin on January 16, 2026
- The process was supposed to end on January 26, 2026
- Choice locking was scheduled from 4 pm to 11.55 pm on January 26, 2026
However, the entire choice locking process has now been paused until further notice.
Seat matrix revised for round 3
Recently, MCC also revised the seat matrix for round 3 of NEET PG counselling 2025. As part of this revision:
Some institutes added new seats and some institutes withdrew seats for round 3.
Seats marked for withdrawal will be removed from the seat matrix before seat processing, while the newly added seats have already been included. Candidates are allowed to exercise choices for the newly added seats once the process resumes.
