MDU’s Neha Siwach cracks NDA with All India Rank 14
ROHTAK: Bringing laurels to Maharshi Dayanand University, NCC cadet Neha Siwach,18, has secured an impressive All India Rank 14 among women candidates in the NDA 2025 final examination, the results of which were declared in April.
Associate NCC Officer of MDU, Lieutenant Dr. Aarti, informed that Neha completed her schooling from Sarvodaya school of science, Imlota (Charkhi Dadri), and is currently pursuing B.Sc. Mathematics (honours) at MDU. A native of Jhajjar's Pahadiwar district, she is an active and disciplined cadet of the 2nd Haryana Girls Battalion NCC.
Speaking to TOI, Neha said she is now awaiting her joining letter and is likely to begin her training soon at National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. Reflecting on her preparation, she shared that she benefited from SSB coaching available on the MDU campus. “I relied on self-study and focused preparation. I worked consistently on developing Officer Like Qualities step by step,” she said.
Coming from a modest background, Neha said her father is a farmer and her mother a homemaker. “Despite limited means, my parents ensured I never felt any lack that could hinder my progress,” she added.
Sharing her motivation, Neha said she chose the armed forces to challenge stereotypes. “Fewer girls opt for defence services. I wanted to prove that women can excel even in demanding roles like safeguarding the nation at the frontlines,” she said.
MDU vice-chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia congratulated Neha on her outstanding achievement, calling it a proud moment for the university.
