Steps to download admit card online Candidates can access the admit card by visiting neet.nta.nic.in and opening the link marked for NEET UG 2026 admit card under candidate activity.

After clicking the link, candidates need to enter their application number and password or date of birth, followed by the security pin displayed on screen. Once submitted, the admit card can be downloaded in PDF form.

NEET admit card 2026 released: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET UG 2026 admit card on April 26 on its official portal, allowing more than 22 lakh registered candidates to download their hall tickets for the national medical entrance examination scheduled for May 3. The admit card carries the examination centre name and address, reporting time, test centre code, and candidate-specific details required for entry.

NEET UG will be conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm, with 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 720 marks. The release of the admit card follows the earlier issue of exam city intimation slips, through which the agency said 99.2 per cent of candidates were allotted their first-choice city.

Exam pattern and candidate data released

The examination will cover Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry carrying 180 marks apiece, while Biology, divided into Botany and Zoology, will include 90 questions carrying 360 marks.

The paper will be held in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates opting for a regional language will receive bilingual question papers in English and the chosen language.

NTA has indicated that more than 22 lakh aspirants are expected to appear this year. The test remains the common entrance route for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS courses in medical institutions across India.

For candidates with benchmark disabilities and physical limitations in writing, an additional compensatory hour will be granted for the three-hour examination.

Details candidates must verify on admit card

Candidates have been advised to carefully check all particulars after downloading the hall ticket. These include name, roll number, application number, gender, category, medium of examination, exam date, reporting time, test timing, test centre number, centre name, and full address.

The admit card is available only online and will not be dispatched by post. NTA has stated that duplicate admit cards will not be issued at examination centres, and candidates must preserve the document for later admission procedures.

Along with the printed admit card, candidates must carry a valid government identity proof and passport-sized photographs to the examination centre.

Dress code and examination day rules issued

Candidates have been instructed to wear light-coloured, short-sleeved clothing. Slippers and low-heeled sandals are permitted. Those wearing customary attire have been advised to report early for security checks.

Items such as mobile phones, calculators, watches, handbags, printed papers, stationery, metallic objects, and electronic devices will not be allowed inside the examination hall.

Biometric verification and frisking arrangements will be conducted at centres. Medical exemptions related to dress code require prior approval from NTA.

The agency has also cautioned candidates against misinformation regarding alleged paper leak claims circulating on social media and urged reliance only on official websites, including nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in.

Evaluation rules and institutional measures

NTA has reiterated the evaluation procedure for disputed questions. If more than one option is correct, candidates selecting any correct option will receive four marks. If all options are correct, all candidates attempting the question will be awarded four marks. If a question is dropped or found incorrect, all candidates will receive four marks.

In a separate directive, the National Medical Commission has advised medical colleges to remain vigilant during the examination period and not grant leave on May 2 and May 3 except in exceptional cases, citing concerns related to unfair practices in previous years.
