Congress ahead in 5 seats in Puducherry in early trends
PUDUCHERRY: In Puducherry's Kamaraj Nagar, Congress candidate and former chief minister V Vaithilingam is leading with 3,740 votes against AIADMK candidate P Ganesan's 1,856 votes. AINRC candidate B Thayalan has polled 1,047 votes, followed by CPI candidate and former minister R Viswanathan with 339 votes.
Congress candidate A John Kumar leads in Nellithope constituency with 18,506 votes as against AIADMK candidate Om Sakthi Segar, who has polled 6,365 votes.
AINRC candidate D Balaji has polled 598 votes followed by BJP candidate Elangovan with 287 votes
Congress candidate Malladi Krishna Rao is leading in Yanam constituency. He polled 17,187 as against the All India NR Congress candidate Tirikoty Bairava Swamy, who polled 9,262 votes. Independent candidate Pemmadi Durga Prasad polled 193 votes. AIADMK candidate Manchala Satya Sai Kumar with 182 votes was pushed to the third position. BJP candidate Ramdas Kanakala polled 122 votes.
Congress candidates M Candassamy from Embalam and V P Sivakolundhu from Lawspet are leading. There are 30 assembly constituencies in Puducherry.
