Karaikal: The Puducherry and Tamil Nadu police have launched efforts to hold joint operations along the interstate border in a bid to curb the movement of antisocial elements in view of the 2016 assembly polls. Senior superintendent of police (Karaikal) A K Gawas held a border district meeting with his counterparts from the Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur districts on March 16 to evolve strategies for preventing movement of cash, illegal arms, ammunitions, explosives, weaponry and alcohol.
